Getting to the Sierpe River Dock
All mangrove boat tours depart directly from the waterfront in Sierpe de Osa. Sierpe is located at the end of Route 223, approximately 15 minutes south of Palmar Norte on a smooth, fully paved two-lane highway accessible by any standard rental car (no 4x4 needed).
100% paved road from San José, Manuel Antonio, Uvita, or Dominical directly to the dock.
Gated, monitored parking right on the waterfront is included during your tour; $8 USD/day for extended stays (bookable in advance on SierpeXplorer).
Please arrive at the dock 15 to 20 minutes prior to your reserved departure time.
Boat fare is $25 USD/person. Tours ≤ 8:00 AM connect with the 11:30 AM boat; tours ≤ 1:00 PM connect with the 4:00 PM boat. Both boat tickets and parking can be reserved on SierpeXplorer.
Boats operate on scheduled private and small-group departures. To guarantee your naturalist guide, boat canopy, and ideal tidal window, all reservations must be made online in advance through SierpeXplorer.
